sounds in silence

I was sitting alone that day, a little aloof, a little sad, don't know why and was listening to the sounds that came by. The wailing of a cat, a door opened to shoo it away and its closing. The distant ringing of a telephone and its fading away when it was answered. The other sound, the faintest of all but the most interesting that i found was that of the nib on the paper. The sound that was being caused by me while scribbling this down. How strange it is that in solitude we seek sounds and in noise the silence. It seems as if the unending demand of the 'missing' finds no end. Just recalled that commercial where they were saying that to talk we need no languages and yes it is true in the sense as almost anyone can watch a movie in an unknown language and yet understand it leaving out the nitty gritties. But haven't the sounds of artificiality surround us? Seems like I have got to get silent now, I am scribbling too much...

Thoughts on the JOB…

They came to us
To take us to their employ
Intrigued by their mystery
I went to see whats the play

The walls the put up
Were walls of fire
Either to be burned in a gulp
Or be a survivor

Survived the first test
There was no looking back
I had to continue my quest
Unless thrown off the track

And then the fire died
To be burned somewhere away
While here patience was tried
To see who will go and who were to stay

The herald called up my name
Friends called for a ‘party’
For I too had won the game
Now, celebration for a bond in slavery??

Feelings under the sun

When we met that day
I just felt like going past heaven’s way
Your such a long absence
Just brings your sweetest memories
To relish every moment
To enjoy every dream
That looking into the eyes
Holding hands and walking by
Everything was going fine
While I was living my life
Just when a break came
Seems like the troubles began
No one talks to me
They just let me be
But this is what I wanted
And now no more
If you come to me hurriedly
Just comfort me and say
“You aren’t lonely”

By the river’s banks

Walking past the river
On it’s sand banks
Was wondering and thinking
Why did the dust come here
From faraway lands?
Climbed up the tower I saw,
The world just below me
Kept wondering then
How beautiful it has been
Down I came,
Pulled by that sweet smell
Of the snacks in the stall
That old chap sells
And then I saw
You coming along
Wasn’t that on your lips a song?
As we enjoyed the scenes
And agreed it was tasty
I just feel so good
When you sit so lovingly beside me…

The last day...

If an individual, a sane one, is told that he/she told the he has to live only a day before he passes away, what can we expect the emotions building up to be?  One thing is that the rush of adrenaline will be high. But yes, he/ she will rush through time.
What will you do? Maybe go on to fulfill your dreams, fantasies, earthly duties etc. Maybe, be with family, meet up long lost friends or even go on the path of forgiveness to reconcile. But what can we see in all of it? Is it not the urge to keep a smile or give away some to others.
Surely enough none of us will be provided such a chance to know it before-hand. Surely if I get the chance, I will rather add the questions of how and where. So living life like its your last day seems better, NICKELBACK in their song ‘today’s your last day’ says the same too, the undying spirit in the movie DASVIDAANIYA. Do we need more? Ok I agree that smiling always is not that good, but quoting my teacher “smiling is good for your health”, it seems a better option.
So coming back to the question, what will you do my dear reader who took all the pain to just be facing this question? Post some answers till I come up with something else. Goodbye.

Memories...

It had been a very un-productive month for me, literally, so here goes this month’s post. I had been pondering what to write about this time and then a friend of mine just made me remember the word MEMORIES. Truly speaking, there is something in this word and this world that always tends us to compare a situation with a similar one in the past and derive satisfaction from it. During the days of studies, the lower classes as we go past them feel so good. Is it so that we have grown up and are now able to hop over that hurdle or something else? The memories of a place where we stay always pulls us towards it, is it so because of the cocoon effect it gives us?
Ruminating these memories is another pastime. Old and young, fat and thin, boy and girl and almost any other bizarre combination of two or more persons opens a huge avenue of topics which even though going by a single topic a zillion times doesn’t seem to tire the participants!! Whatever be it, if anything can be a better stress buster than this which can be availed free of cost I will be all ears.
Technologically again this word like our human demands is almost endless, those were days when someone had quipped that 256 MB will be the maximum limit for the memory capacity on a computer system. Now it’s the race in terabytes, petabytes and zettabytes and more. We have so much but do we use all? I doubt.
Sorry my dear reader I seem to have gone astray a little too much. Just a word before finishing, cherish your memories and to quote a friend “To learn 4m our past...apply dat in present ...to mak a better future,,.dats called ''conscious living''!”. Sayyonara…
